What are the 4Qs? (1) Three favorite films. (2) An underrated film. (3) An overrated film. (4) A lesser-known film people should seek out. Tuesday's interview with Regina Pigsley was two years in the making and well worth the wait! Her film “The Phoenix” screened at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival and won Outstanding Director – Drama & Audience Award - Best Short Film – Drama and six months later brought her revamped college film “Matched” to Film Invasion Los Angeles in 2023, taking home an Audience Award for Best Short Film - SciFi. Regina is an all around amazing person and you know that means you're going to want to tune in for her 4 Questions. • 469. Regina Pigsley “The Phoenix” & Matched”
    Nov 19 2024
It's Tuesday, Indie Film Lovers, and you know that means a new podcast is out! This particular interview was two years in the making! How so? Regina Pigsley and I had set a time to record this, either in person or Zoom, so many times since her film “The Phoenix” screened at Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2022 (where she won Outstanding Director – Drama & Audience Award - Best Short Film – Drama) that we both thought that we were recording her second appearance on Discover Indie Film. But noooo... thorough research proves that Regina has not been on the podcast before! It might be because we had another great festival Q&A six months later when she brought her revamped college film “Matched” to Film Invasion Los Angeles in 2023, taking home an Audience Award for Best Short Film - SciFi. But our shared false memory that Regina had done a Discover Indie Film podcast is no longer relevant because we DID record this podcast! Lucky you, because this is a wonderful conversation with an amazingly dedicated filmmaker and human. I add the “amazing human” part because Regina works for World Central Kitchen, utilizing her production skills to help get food to people in war zones. Amazing!
