James 1 teaches about staying strong and happy even when things are hard, because tough times make us stronger in our faith. It reminds us to ask God for wisdom if we need it, and He'll give it to us. The chapter also says it's important not just to hear what God's word says, but to do what it says. It's like looking in a mirror; we should remember what we look like and act on it. It also tells us to take care of people who need help and to keep ourselves from being polluted by the world's bad influences.
