Hola! Welcome to episode 4 of season 2! I recorded this episode over two months ago but I was so scared and nervous to release it because it is very personal to me. However, domestic violence is something that I have experienced too many times in my life and I wanted to bring light to a subject that is very taboo and difficult to talk about. So here is a brief introduction of what I went through in my past. I share this because I know that there are many people living through this and I also know that while you are going through this it is a very hard cycle to get out of. To people that have never experienced this, it seems absurd to stay with someone that has physically harmed you, however, emotional abuse is just as bad and many many people stay in those relationships as well. It is more normalized. Any kind of mistreatment should be a non negotiable, but somehow it’s not always the case. This was hard to record, and even harder to release. But I’m finally ready to do so. If you or anyone you know is going through something please seek help within these organizations. You aren’t alone. And you can escape this and darling, life is so much better on this side. I can’t begin to express how much life has given me after I have been able to choose myself. I have traveled sooo much, been to 19 countries and about to go to 3 more within the next week. I have made so many friendships and spent so many amazing hours laughing and enjoying myself that the only thing I regret is not finding the courage to leave sooner.
