  • Intimacy in the Bible: What makes us sexual beings series
    Nov 19 2024

Here is Episode 2 of our series, “What Makes Us Seckual Beings" a look into the #CirclesofSexuality for Christians. The focus is all about #Intimacy. And no, I’m not just talking about candles and rose petals! We’re breaking down the nuances of intimacy, and defining different types of intimacy like: #emotional, #spiritual, physical, sexual, #financial, social—and how each one brings us closer to the people in our lives and to #God. As we bridge the gap between science and scripture, Genesis 2:24-25 leads the way. Some of your favorite biblical relationships like God & Adam, Adam & Eve, David & Jonathan, Ruth & Naomi teach us about how intimacy in all its forms requires open and authentic communication, trust, #vulnerability, and joy. Are you ready to move beyond surface-level connections and curate relationships that go the distance? This one’s for you! • What makes us sexual beings?: Christianity & The Circles of Sexuality
    Nov 12 2024

We are kicking off a brand-new series, “What Makes Us Sexual Beings?” This series is about discovering all the layers of our sexuality. Using both the Circles of Sexuality model and God's word, we are truly bridging the gap between science and scripture. In part 1 of the series, we’re starting with Sensuality, a key way that we connect with ourselves and experience the world around us. Today’s episode we are having Daring Discussions that defines Sensuality, as well as body image, skin hunger, the sexual response cycle, and fantasies. Psalm 139:13-14 teaches us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” It’s time to see yourself the way God sees you—no shame, no judgment, just appreciation and compassion. And the Song of Solomon? We go there, too. That book celebrates physical attraction, intimacy, and sensual connection as part of God’s good design for us. My hope is that after this episode you get comfortable with what it means to be a sensual being, embracing your desires, your body, and every layer that makes you whole. (I also hope you've subscribed and will return each week for the rest of the series) Here is the link to the Circles of Sexuality Model that will guide this series: https://bit.ly/4hNi1xN I would love to have you join the Intimacy Insiders by hitting that subscribe button, leaving a comment, and following along on our Real. Alright, first things first—this is another one of THOSE Daring Discussions. We’re talking about p*rnography. We’re starting with what scripture has to say. Then, we’re taking a hard look at how p*rn (introduced to some of us as children) can twist our understanding of intimacy, mess with our mental health, and cause disconnects in our relationships. We will talk practical steps too—accountability, choosing what we let into our minds and hearts, navigating & guiding the young people in ou...
