The Authority of Jesus Challenged

Our Lord always refused to gratify idle curiosity. When an earnest seeker for truth, like Nicodemus, approached Him to know the way of life, He was willing to give time and thought without stint. But of what use was it to endeavor to satisfy these men who had refused to acknowledge the divine mission of the Forerunner! They would not speak out their inner convictions, because of the effect it would have on their worldly prospects. For such as these Christ has nothing. At all costs, we must be true to the inner light, that is, to God’s Spirit within us.

Cursing the Fig Tree

Matthew 21:18-22

The tree by the roadside was a visible symbol of the moral condition of Israel as it presented ‘itself to the eye of Christ

It had leaves, you will observe, though it had no fruit. That was the distinction of this particular tree among its fellows ranged along the road, with their bare, leafless, unpromising branches. They held out hopes of nothing beyond what met the eye. This tree, with its abundant leaves, gave promise of fruit that might be well-nigh ripe; and thus it was a symbol of moral or of religious pretentiousness.

A lesson for us don’t be pretenders. be participators in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Cleansing the Temple

Matthew 21:12-17

Jesus had a zeal for His Father’s house. It broke His heart that they made the House of Prayer a house of merchandise. In the midst of all their money-making, there were sick people who were overlooked. But Jesus had great compassion for them, and they were grateful and worshiped Him. Let us yield to the power of the Holy Spirit and be like Jesus.

The Triumphal Entry

Jesus Heals Two Blind Men

Matthew 20:29-34

Jesus was never to come that way again this was the only chance that these two blind men could receive their sight

Some were trying to stop them from calling upon Jesus

But Jesus looked an had compassion and they received their sight

Don’t ever short change the Lord he can do a mighty work, when others think there’s no possible way

Give God the Glory.

Sometimes we let other people do our bidding, especially if it’s shameful. Yes, the other disciples thought that this bidding was shameful. It caused confusion and division, let us humble Ourselves and reverence, God.

It is a noble desire to be nearer to Christ, but it is a carnal desire to have others below us ,let us choose to be servants of God, making a difference from a compassionate heart, by totally surrendering our will to his.
