  • Summary

  • Hey, my friend. Riaz here. And you are watching your own channel 'Fact & Fiction Bangla'. You must know that about 65 million years ago an asteroid named 'chicxulub'. It hit the Earth, wiping out the entire dinosaur species. Our ancestors (mammals) survived then because they lived underground. But now the scenario has completely changed, we now live on the surface of the earth. Now if such an asteroid hits the earth then you must understand what will happen. Scientists believe that on 23 April 2029, an asteroid, named 'Apophis', will pass by the Earth. And the chances are that it could hit some part of the Earth. So what can we do here? If the question was asked before 23 September 2022, I would say we have nothing to do but wait and see. Since September 23rd, we have had the technology to alter the trajectory of an incoming asteroid. NASA successfully completed their 'DART' mission on 23 September. So they were able to change the trajectory of an asteroid as per their plan . This technology will save the world from many dangers in the future. However, as you can understand, it was not easy to do. Because nothing like this has ever been done before in human history. Behind this is a lot of careful calculations and the work of hundreds of scientists. Let's see how the trajectory of an asteroid is changed.
