Continuing Jace’s Journey

By: Aimee Nekoranik
  • Summary

  • Talking about the tragic loss of my oldest, grief, trauma, addiction, LGBTQ+, transgender community and more…much more! I have a lot to get off my chest and out of my head. I keep an extremely small, wonderful circle of people close to me and hate to replay the record of me yapping away about my feelings and opinions. I know my mind can get carried away when I’m feeling really emotional. I just want people who struggle with their feelings know they are not alone. Even if our struggles aren’t the same.

  • Halloween Shooting
    Nov 3 2023
Since police reports given to news media outlets and information being reported is inaccurate, I’ve decided to talk about what my family and neighbors witnessed on Halloween night that resulted in the tragic death of a 14 year old boy. This shooting happened right across the street from my house. About 15 shots were fired around 7:30pm Halloween night. The teenage boys were struck that resulted in the death of one of them. Sadly, my family and I are feeling the pain and sorrow this boys family is going through in more ways then one. Only 3 years ago my oldest was murdered across the street from our house and his body was put on our front doorstep for us to find.

  • Season 2: Breaking down Season 1 Episodes
    Oct 9 2023
In this first episode of Season 2 I explain why I didn’t decide to just delete Season 1 entirely and start over. I also talk about achieving and celebrating accomplishments no matter how big or small they may have been. And of course I rambled a bit because that’s who I am and what I tend to do daily lol.

  • Grief: Episode 4
    Aug 6 2023
In this episode I talk about the way life has changed for me since Jace died. I talk about the dreaded upcoming date of September 5, being 3 years since his life was cut short by a vile human being, how I struggle knowing justice will never be properly served and more. I do a bit of my normal rambling and topic jumping but, I’m working on that. Hopefully I can get some loyal listeners to keep tuning in. I know I haven’t got to it yet but, telling Jace’s story, keeping a legacy in his honor and being open and honest of how traumatic grief can be for people and families will help others feel less alone.
