Be prepared for some thunderstorm action and a very high UV index. The surf temperature is in the mid-70s, with a mix of sun and a chance of showers or thunderstorms, so keep an eye out for changing conditions. High today will be in the mid-80s with a max heat index in the mid-90s. Winds coming in from the South at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

    Moving on to your Sunday session, expect a higher rip current risk with surf heights around 6 feet. Thunderstorms are likely, so stay alert. The day starts mostly sunny, shifting to mostly cloudy later on with a chance of more showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower 90s with a toasty max heat index of up to 100.     In Southwestern Suffolk, including Gilgo State Park and Robert Moses State Park, we're in for a moderate rip current risk, surf heights around 3 feet, and mostly sunny skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Surf temperature in the upper 60s, highs in the upper 70s, and Southwest winds around 10 miles per hour.

    Lastly, for Southeastern Suffolk, including Smith Point and Cupsogue Beach, today brings a moderate rip current risk, surf heights around 3 feet, and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 70s with a Southwest wind around 10 miles per hour.
