  • Dante’s Peak vs Volcano: Part 2
    Dec 28 2023

So, here it is: the final episode of Clash of the Titles. And we’re going out with the biggest bang imaginable.

In the second half of our final destructive duel, we’re casting a cautious eye over 1997’s Volcano, which stars a dismissive Tommy Lee Jones looking suspiciously at manhole covers and literally laughing in the various faces of science. We have yet more disputes around basic volcanic terminology, all while the volcano itself manages to solve racist tensions marring the town. Ah, the movies…

Thank you to everyone who has listened to Clash over the past four and a half years. Be sure to have a peruse of our extensive back catalogue to hear us natter on about loads of movies you love - and plenty you might not.

  • Dante’s Peak vs Volcano: Part 1
    Dec 25 2023

For the final instalment of Clash of the Titles, there was only one movie matchup we could do: the very films that the entire show was pitched on back in 2019. Oddly, they’re a bit rubbish - but hilarious fun to talk about!

We’re comparing two disastrous natural disasters from 1997, as Volcano takes on today’s topic of eruption discussion: Dante’s Peak. A bitter volcanologist - whose sworn enemy is an actual volcano - gets a shot at vengeance when a huge eruption threatens to wipe out the entire town he’s just stumbled across. Bonus points for insisting on being saved before the women and children in his custody.

We'll be back with the final episode of Clash of the Titles this Thursday!
