  • EP 86: Is the 'Battle of the Sexes' a lose-lose for women's tennis and is Serena Williams making a comeback?
    Dec 12 2025

Should the BBC be airing the 'battle of the sexes' between Nick Kyrgios and Aryna Sabalenka and what are the potential consequences it could have on women's tennis and sport? Is Serena Williams coming back after rumours emerged that she has re-entered the ITIA's anti-doping testing pool? The great 5 set vs 3 set debate and should there be equality in the format for both men's and women's events? Why is it that the same player's tend to be the ones constantly injured? • Ep 85: Guest- Calvin Betton- Winning Wimbledon, the current state of Doubles and his rise to coaching at the very top of the game!
    Nov 28 2025

On today's Ep, Nick is joined by Calvin Betton at the CnCTP studios. Calvin is a professional coach currently working with ATP Doubles no.3 in the world Henry Patten and world no.38 Luke Johnson, where collectively they have won 11 titles including 2 grand slams under Calvin's guidance.

Calvin discusses the incredible end of the season Henry and Harri had in 2025 wining Paris and the ATP Finals back-to-back, before getting into his journey in tennis from playing as a junior and competitively in his late teens, to coaching at grassroots in the UK to becoming one of the top coaches in the world and winning Grand Slams. He chats about his coaching styles both on the practice court and preparing for matches using data analysis and match reports. He talks through the remarkable build-up to winning Wimbledon and the run itself as well as how it differed to winning in Melbourne earlier this year. We also get into the current state of doubles and how the tours need to improve in the marketing and promotion of the sport and how they are even going out of their way to prevent this change from happening.
