Chatting with Purple Belt Jeremy Litka

  • Summary

  • "Send us a text and let us know how we're doing"

Jeremy is a 47-year-old maintenance worker at a manufacturing plant, a husband, and a proud father of two—a 22-year-old son and a 16-year-old daughter. When he is not maintaining the machinery at work, he can be found training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a journey he began in March 2019. Despite undergoing a total hip replacement in November 2021, he earned his purple belt in November 2024, proving that a little titanium cannot keep him down.

He has always enjoyed staying active. He played league softball and flag football, coached youth football, and even assisted with children’s martial arts classes. He has hit the slopes on skis and a snowboard, spent time hunting, and competed in pistol and rifle shooting competitions.

He also serves on the board of the Matthew Axelson Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the families of fallen soldiers and helping veterans transition to civilian life—work that he is deeply passionate about.

Like many, he has struggled with weight gain, but life is just another match—you show up, fight hard, and keep moving forward.
