Campus Chronicles

  • Summary

  • Campus Chronicles is a podcast that breaks down the different parts of college and the effect they can have on a student. It explains the benefits and downsides of each part from the view of a student. This is an important topic because it is not something that is usually addressed in these kinds of projects, instead just focusing on what makes the college so great. This is a deep dive to the innerworkings of it and how they have an impact, not just describing them. The series is presented as a lesson itself, with the host as the teacher. It makes listeners feel like they are sitting in the classroom learning. This style allows more creative freedom with how each episode can be done. Overall, this series is one that can help listeners understand much more about a basic topic they are all too familiar with.

The first episode of the series deals with academics. I thought it would be a good idea to start off with this topic because it helps to sell the idea that the podcast is actually a class. Also, it is a very simple topic and one that most listeners can learn from. Students usually have a hard time with academics, so being able to learn how they can figure out a solution is a great way to help. It is better to cater to someone’s needs than tell them something they may not care about. That way, they may want to listen to more episodes and start to like the series. The episode itself talks about different subjects. First it starts with how academics in college are different from high school. It is important to know the difference between them before continuing to describe the rest of the details.
