  • Walking My Way: DAY 2: Roncesvalles to Larrasoaña

Hello everyone!! Day 2 walking plog let’s gooo! Today I interview the wonderful Olivier, who runs the best bar/shop/cafe/music heartbeat in Larrasoaña. I am grateful for how open he was to sharing his personal story of the Camino (tw: addiction, depression, suicide). I found it truly inspiring to hear of the lessons he had learnt. I agree with him, the Camino is as good as the best self help books out there! I'm Ruby, I'm 22 and I live in London. I graduated from Cambridge last year and have been working in TV production since. I'm taking time off work to go on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage across France and Spain (I’m doing the full Camino Frances). I will be walking 800 km as a female solo traveller, completely untrained (in fact with a hip injury). This journey has been a dream of mine since I was 15, when I read The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coelho. I wouldn’t say I’m religious, but I do have some sort of relationship with spirituality, which I am hoping to explore on this trip. Stay tuned for an episode for every day of my journey, which I will be walking for over a month. From the practical, emotional, historical and spiritual, to the deep connections (and blisters) I’m expecting to make, you will hear it all. Buen camino!
