The development and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine have given us an optimistic look into the future of this pandemic. Throughout the past year, we've seen racial disparities and inequities in who's being affected and who's dying from COVID-19; however, we're continuing to see these disparities and inequities well into the COVID-19 vaccine distribution. In Northeast Ohio, racial disparities and inequities in COVID-19 vaccine access and hesitancy are prevalent in the ways Black and Latinx communities are being vaccinated at a lower rate than other racial groups. This episode, we explore how we can explain these disparities and inequities, how much we can blame history to explain current vaccine distribution, vaccine access and hesitancy, and much more.
