Beyond the Binary: Coming Soon!

  • Summary

  • The visibility of nonbinary people in popular culture is at an all-time high. From central characters on television shows including Starz’s P-Valley and CBS All Access’s Star Trek: Discovery, to nonbinary actors and artists gracing the covers of fashion magazines, the likelihood of people not knowing of a nonbinary person is growing slimmer by the day—not to mention the public disclosures of mega stars Elliott Page and Demi Lovato who both changed their pronouns and shared their nonbinary identities with the world earlier this year. To take stock of what feels like a boom in representation, season two of Entertainment Weekly’s Untold Stories podcast is appropriately subtitled Beyond the Binary. Hosted and produced by entertainment journalist Tre’vell Anderson, who is also nonbinary, the four-episode, limited series promises to contribute to popular discourse about representation on and off screen through the lens of the nonbinary actors, musicians, artists and writers paving their own ways. New episodes of Untold Stories will drop every Wednesday throughout Pride month starting June 2. Subscribe now so you don't miss a thing! Host/Producer: Tre'vell Anderson (@TrevellAnderson); Producer: Carly Usdin (@carlytron); Editor/Engineer: Samee Junio (@Samee_Junio); Executive Producer: Shana Naomi Krochmal (@shananaomi).
