  • Tennessee is faced with a crisis that their landfills are nearing capacity, primary due to excessive packaging materials and the lack of resources to effectively recycle them. Senator Heidi Campbell is promoting the Tennesse Waste Reduction &Recycling Act, a bipartisan bill designed to reduce excess waste from landfills and promote recycling. The legislation, which is supported by the Sustainable Food Policy Alliance, is intended to shift many costs of recycling to the companies who produce the packaging, ultimately improving recycling and increase recycling opportunities for Tennessee communities.
