Autism at work

By: Matthew Harrison
  • Summary

  • I was diagnosed as autistic in 2022 and feel strongly that autism is not taken seriously enough in the workplace (and with 21st century pressures, I feel the situation is getting worse). I'm now the neurodiversity representative at my place of work (over 12,000 staff: not sure how many are ND!) and in keeping with my true autistic self, I will be honest and frank as I work towards making the workplace more safe for neurodiverse staff.

I have a youtube channel as well: the content will be more-or-less the same as here.

  • My Autistic Burnout
    Feb 6 2023

This recording is an account of how I reached burnout. Since my diagnosis, I've heard the experiences of other autistic people and I can see that what I had dismissed as stress, anxiety and depression can all be explained by reaching that end point at work and how that has affected the rest of my life.
