    Caroline Leicht  is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Southampton, researching gender, media and politics. Her PhD project examines gendered representations of presidential candidates in political satire. Prior to joining the University of Southampton, Caroline worked as a reporter and editor for various media outlets and was a lead reporter for the 2020 US presidential election coverage at German broadcaster ZDF.
