Art Church is a meditation podcast for artists and creatives designed to help you build a small but mighty ritual around preparing to enter your studio, whether that might be a writing desk or easel in the corner of your living room, a tiny sketchbook you carry around in your pocket, or an entire kitchen, workshop, or dance hall.

In this first season, we’ll be calling your creative self home, exploring and tending your internal creative spaces, and unlocking your creative radiance in bite-sized weekly meditations you can listen to before you create.

Many creatives say to me… I can’t meditate. When this happens, I ask them to say more. There are so many ways to meditate… moving meditations, still meditations, visualizations, breath work, mindfulness, and just being in the zone while you’re creating! Meditation is time that you set aside to bring your awareness to your center, ground, and make contact with your creative source. In each episode of Art Church you’ll have an opportunity to do just that in bite-sized 8-10 minute meditations. Many of which can be done as either a still or moving meditation to fit your style.

Today we’re going to tune into your immediate surroundings and define your personal creative space… this exercise invites you to establish a boundary at the edge of where the space around you that is for only you… only your creative energy… ends and the rest of the world begins. This edge helps you more easily discern between what is yours and what is not. AND it helps you set and hold boundaries around your space and time in your studio. This is also a great exercise for those of you who like to create or write in public spaces.
