  • Summary

  • First dates are a total gamble, especially if your date is a total stranger. They will want to keep any red flags rolled up tight and out of sight. After all, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Where the date goes could be exciting, or precarious, but if you’re smart (or just lucky) you’ll detect those red flags before it’s too late.

Welcome to Am I Dating A Serial Killer?, a podcast that explores the crossover topics of dating and dangerous personalities by sharing stories of real people navigating the sometimes treacherous path to finding the right partner. Each episode tells an eyebrow-raising true story of someone in search of love who’s trying to detect the sometimes-subtle difference between a dream come true and a total nightmare. In other words, are they the one... or are they a serial killer?

(Of course, the charismatic, thoughtful, funny, and gorgeous person you’re dating might also be a psychopath, sociopath, homicidal narcissist, plain old narcissist, sexual deviant, catfisher, or maybe just a drug-dealing, human-trafficker hitman pedophile looking for love like everyone else.)

Author and dating expert, Gabi Conti, uses her extensive dating experience to help our guests navigate the how’s, why’s, and hell no’s of modern dating. In each episode, Gabi hears a victim of the dating world’s harrowing story and weighs in on the pitfalls of dating the wrong person. Then, Gabi and an expert in the fields of psychology, behavioral profiling, forensics, or personal safety provide tailored tips and advice for tricky dating and relationship situations.

Am I Dating a Serial Killer? will illuminate, educate, and help listeners know how to stay safe, make smart choices, and realize that when it comes to the trials and tribulations of modern dating and relationships, they’re not alone.

The first letters of the show’s title spell the acronym, AIDASK. Because we believe that when a person needs “AID,” it’s important to speak up and “ASK” for it. We hope “AIDASK'' listeners will gain a bit of relationship wisdom, take away pockets full of safety tips, and feel more connected with others in our wide, wide world of romantic relationships.

  • Episode 1: Caroline
    Feb 3 2022
At first, Paul from work was sweet, goofy, funny, and charismatic which distracted Caroline from who Paul was on paper: a directionless college-dropout smoker with a bad job and a young child from a previous relationship. But things moved fast, Paul moved in, and the red flags started popping up. It wasn’t until nearly two years of dating that Caroline hit her breaking point on February 14th, a dangerous Valentine’s Day she will never forget.

  • Episode 2: Dylan
    Feb 3 2022
Dylan didn’t realize she had become a victim of “dogfishing,” which is when someone on a dating app posts pictures of themselves with a puppy to lure more matches. She was genuinely excited to meet Zach, a feeling that doubled when he offered to bring along his dachshund as a wingman. But when Dylan arrived at the restaurant, Zach was all alone. When Dylan discovered it wasn’t even Zach’s dog, she just wanted to go. What she didn’t realize was that her life might be in danger and she would have to escape.

  • Episode 3: Emily
    Feb 3 2022
When Emily met Corey, her first thought was that he was too good to be true. Corey was well known in town as being a great but strange guy, which quirky art girl Emily was totally on board with. So, she brushed off his jokes about locking her in a basement if she ever tried to leave him, thinking that was just his weird sense of humor. Things moved fast and Corey asked Emily to move in. She took him up on his offer, thinking this situation would be like a never-ending vacation. But after a couple of months of honeymoon bliss, Emily got pregnant, and things started to change.

Interesting and nformative

Stories or how domestic violence can creep upon people and some lucky escapes. Good for someone navigating recovery from this type of abuse.

Joanna's a huge part of the problem

The first red flag is Joanna bragging how she has no filter. I've never ever heard someone say that and be a considerate or empathic person. She stole something out of his hand and threw it out the window? Told him to f* off? Caused a huge drama and involved 4 parents? Sat at the top of the stairs to stay in the drama instead of going to bed? Calling herself an empath is totally manipulative, she was awful to him and triggered the deepest saddest part of him. And she knows that, because she said she wondered if she was going to bring that out of him one day. Some women are genuine innocent victims of psychos, and women like Joanna make it so much harder for us.
