Alcoholics Anonymous - A free & powerful method to overcome alcohol addiction by Tripti Bisht

  • Summary

  • Problem drinking or alcoholism affects the physical and mental health of a significant population in India. In this episode, I introduce you to a wonderful option to tackle alcohol addiction - Alcoholics Anonymous, a self-help group that started in Ohio in1935. Since AA members maintain anonymity outside their meetings, the name of our guest has been changed. Get to know how AA can help you stay clean from alcohol addiction, the helpline numbers you can contact, and the website where you can find details about their effective meetings. Even though it sounds unbelievable that alcohol addiction can be treated through meetings, the number of recovered alcohol addicts through the fellowship speaks volumes in itself. Alcohol addiction recovery is possible - don't lose hope. Reach out and get help or help save lives by sharing as much as you can.  Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an International Fellowship of more than 2 million recovering alcoholics throughout the world. In India, there are about 40,000 members. They meet in over 1,500 local meetings spread around the country. AA is nonprofessional – it doesn’t have clinics, doctors, counselors, or psychologists. All members are recovering alcoholics.  The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; and does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes.  Disclaimer: The views, information, or opinions expressed by the podcast guests are solely those of the individuals and do not necessarily represent those of Ek Tha Drug Addict.
