Abortion – Understanding Single Issue Voters

  • Summary

  • This is the follow up on the conversation I had, emergently themed on abortion, with a brother who is voting for #kamalaharris this election. I get single issue voters through this content creation journey. As much as I feel aligned with many things that #trump has proposed, I get it why people would want to punish him for being instrumental in overturning Roe v. Wade. If that's you, I support you. At the same time, I hope that folks with a progressive orientation around abortion access – which is that humans should have the option to decide if they want to abort (in some cases) – move to the states/communities which have horrifically restrictive policies and foster the grassroots change required for the states to themselves change their regulations. In the long run, progress fostered from the grassroots seems to win out over progress imposed from top. There's so much more to talk about on this subject and I'm personally sick of the stalemate between pro-choice and pro-life bandwagons, both failing to represent and speak adequately to their shadow sides. #abortiondebate
