    The root chakra is the foundation of the chakra system. Its Sanskrit name is Muladhara, a term formed out of the words ‘root’ and ‘support.’ Maintaining a healthy and balanced root chakra is essential to living a fulfilling life.

    The root chakra is the first chakra on your body. It also helps our feeling of connection with the human body as well as with a connection with the earth.

    If there’s a problem with the root chakra, people may feel unable to find their place in their world. One aspect of the Root Chakra is how it relates to how we feel grounded. That means feeling that physical needs such as food, water, and shelter are met. It also includes our emotional needs such as feeling safe and interconnected. The Root Chakra is the base of our life force energy, which links our external and internal world. The Muladhara / Root Chakra helps us feel connected to the Earth as well as helping us be grounded enough to feel secure in life.
