  • 与神的关系是遵行律法的基础，有了好的关系才有遵行的顺服。以巴路山上，约书亚宣读律法的同时献上燔祭和平安祭，是因我们都需要献祭的补赎，更因奉献、感恩和相交的与神同住关系是遵行律法的基础。 这关系却也不是随意而成，而是按照圣约的模式，包含序言和历史的回顾，规定的神圣救赎和律法义务，约的见证、誓言、保存和定期宣读，以及祝福与咒诅。圣约在救赎历史中不断更新：西奈山下此约立成，纪念出埃及；约旦河东此约重申，纪念走旷野；迦南腹地此约被再度更新，以回应神带领以色列入迦南的恩典。 而如今，更美的新约代替了旧约，律法被刻在人心，十字架的恩典成为重点。新约子民遵行律法的基础是回到基督里，并看见新约的丰富内涵和基督的拯救大爱，就此突破律法主义的成圣阻拦。
