On today’s episode, we talk about the recent announcement that this Fall will be the last season for Matthews Arena, and talk about the impending demolition plans, a look back at Matthews Arena’s storied history, what my most memorable hockey game there was, and Northeastern’s ambitious plans for the new arena as well. We also discuss the potential implications for all the teams that call Matthews home, and what are some possible arenas in the Boston area that can serve as a temporary home for the Huskies while the new arena is being built.

  • Episode 1: 2024-25 Huskies Schedule Breakdown
    Jun 17 2024

On the debut episode of the 7th Corner podcast, we do a review of the recently released schedule for the 2024-25 Northeastern Huskies and highlight some games of note, including the team’s trip to Denver to play the defending national champs, we take a look at their non-conference schedule to see how they would fair against this years teams, I talk of the Huskies journey to Quinnipiac to play the Bobcats and how the Huskies have had a hard time playing them the last few years, the spacing of their conference games and how there’s an even mix of home and road games to balance out the travel, and I also note of how there’s no random weekday games on a Tuesday where they won’t have to worry about down attendance numbers. I also talk about my hopes for the Huskies this season and where they’ll place in the Hockey East standings.
