#71. The Patty Duke Show (1964), "The Cousins"

  • Summary

  • This week your hosts dive into #71 on TV Guide's 1997 list, an episode of The Patty Duke Show from 1964 titled "The Cousins." This first season ender was a flashback to when Patty's cousin Cathy first moved in with the fam and a case of mistaken identity quickly ensued, resulting in a confused boyfriend, who may have already been a bit confused about what he could really pull, a dad getting fired but he really wasn't, but was, but wasn't, and poor Cathy being ordered to clean up a mess that wasn’t her in a room that wasn’t hers in a house that wasn’t hers!

The episode is pretty pleasant way to spend nearly 30 minutes, and the three seasons of the eponymous show proved to be a great vehicle for the young Patty Duke on the heels of her Academy Award win for The Miracle Worker.

Whether it belongs on the list ... well, we'll leave that up to you, but as to whether it's a good show and worth watching, it's a definite yes from us. So hit play and listen in ... and also hit subscribe so you can keep up with us.
