  • Lionel Messi and Argentina kept their FIFA World Cup dream alive as they advanced to the semi-finals at the expense of the Netherlands.

    In a dramatic game, Argentina had been ahead 2-0 with just seven minutes remaining. But after pulling one back, Netherlands equalised after 10 minutes of added time. That sent the game into extra-time and eventually penalties where Emi Martinez saved twice to help Argentina on their way to a 4-3 shoot-out win.
