4-Time Paralympian & Outdoor Enthusiast | Kaitlyn Verfuerth

  • Summary

  • In one of Sasha's favorite interviews to date, Kaitlyn Verfuerth is in the studio and the energy is through the roof! As a 4-time Paralympian in two different sports, Kaitlyn takes athletic versatility to another level and tackles tough questions on the show like, should we consider people with disabilities 'an inspiration' and, is there a better term than 'able-bodied' for people who are not disabled?

Kaitlyn competed in wheelchair tennis at the 2004, 2008, and 2016 Paralympic Games, before transitioning to paracanoe after the 2016 Games, a transition that led her back to the Paralympics in an entirely new sport in 2020.

But really, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it come's to Kaitlyn's awesomeness. She is a natural athlete, teacher, coach and mentor and a long-time advocate for inclusion in outdoor spaces. She currently serves as the 360outdoors manager and athletics coordinator at Ability360 here in Arizona, where she organizes various adaptive mountain biking adventures and outdoor activities for individuals with disabilities.

You can find Kaitlyn on Instagram @kverf and Ability360 is online at www.ability360.org and in Instagram @ability360.
