    • Get into today’s topic: CHURCH HURT

    WHAT IS CHURCH HURT?

    • Church hurt refers to the emotional and spiritual pain that individuals experience due to negative interactions with fellow church members or leaders. This can manifest as betrayal, judgment, gossip, or unkindness—often from those we expect to support us in our spiritual journey.
Understanding The Difference Between, “Biblical Correction” and “Unbiblical Bias”:
    • Drew seen a post today that perfectly sets this up:
    • A critical distinction to make is between biblical correction and unbiblical bias.
    • *Biblical Correction*: This is rooted in love and guided by scripture. Galatians 6:1 tells us, "Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently." This kind of correction aims to restore and uplift the individual, not to tear them down.
    • *Unbiblical Bias*: In contrast, unbiblical bias often manifests as judgment, condemnation, or criticism that lacks grace and compassion. It can stem from personal biases, misunderstandings, or even cultural differences within a church community. This behavior can lead to feelings of inadequacy and hurt, leaving individuals feeling ostracized instead of embraced.
    —-----------------------------------------------------------------

    • I know of at least 2 affairs that have happened in churches I have attended. One as a kid, and one as an adult.
    • Mathew 7:15 “ WATCH OUT FOR FALSE PROPHETS. THEY COME TO YOU IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING, BUT INWARDLY THEY ARE FEROCIOUS WOLVES”.
    • MATHEW 24:11 ‘AND MANY FALSE PROPHETS WILL APPEAR AND DECEIVE MANY PEOPLE. Vs. 12 BECAUSE OF THE INCREASE OF WICKEDNESS, THE LOVE OF MOST WILL GROW COLD.”
    • I have been to MEGA churches as well as small churches and at least 4 churches with different denominations.
    • That UNCOMFORTABLE feeling when a church or pastor does something you're not sure is actually biblical.
    • How many of us have left a church because we were hurt there or felt they weren't teaching biblical truth?
