#28 "Microaggressions and Subtle Acts of Exclusion" with Rae Nelson

  • Summary

  • Join Pasha Marlowe (she/her) and Rae Nelson (they/them), a DEIB leader and Human Resources Generalist, for a vulnerable and mind-shifting conversation about microaggressions and subtle acts of exclusion.

Rae describes the 3 types of microaggressions and gives examples of each. They explain intention vs impact, implicit bias, and inclusive design through the lens of intersectionality, queerness, and non-apparent disability, and neurodiversity.

The most impactful part of the conversation was when Pasha and Rae both shared personal and vulnerable stories about their past microaggressions and how those experiences inspired their work as activists and leaders.
