Er selbst in in Köln geboren und seine Eltern stammen aus Uganda, gehören dem Stamm der Baganda an und sprechen Luganda, eine Sprache, die auch Dave beherrscht. Neben der Bühne ist er auch als Komponist und Produzent tätig. Vor seiner Karriere als Comedian produzierte er Hörbücher und Klingeltöne für Jamba.
    Bekannt wurde Dave Davis die von ihm entwickelte Kultfigur des Toilettenmannes Motombo Umbokko.
