  • Ende der 1980er Jahre schreibt ein kalifornischer Videothekar namens Quentin Tarantino in seiner Freizeit Drehbücher. Eines dieser Skripts, zusammen mit seinem Kollegen Roger Avary ausgedacht, verbindet klassische Krimi-Klischees auf ungewöhnliche Weise. 1994 gewinnt Tarantino, inzwischen ein Regie-Shootingstar, mit dem dazugehörigen Film die Goldene Palme von Cannes. „Pulp Fiction” wird zum weltweiten Popkultur-Phänomen, verschafft John Travolta eine neue Karriere, sorgt für Themenpartys in Bohemien-Kreisen. Pia Reiser, Christian Fuchs und Jan Hestmann blicken drei Jahrzehnte später auf den Hype zurück – und fragen sich wie gut „Pulp Fiction“ gealtert ist.
