#2 - Reimagining healthcare with social entrepreneurs

  • Summary

  • Meet with two social entrepreneurs on a mission to make quality healthcare radically accessible. For this episode of #positiveleaders, we explore the health innovations by Jos de Blok and Krystian Fikert.

With Humanity over Bureaucracy as his motto, Jos de Blok is a nurse by profession and the CEO of Buurtzorg. We learn how he built community-based (home) care services through highly qualified licensed nurses while making their daily work more meaningful and sustainable.

A psychologist by profession, Krystian Fikert takes us on a journey of what prompted him to start MyMind - an affordable and accessible mental health service which aims to bypass the need for clinical referral, long waiting lists, and high-cost services. They join us to talk about the complexities of transforming the healthcare system, their contribution in shifting the traditional health narrative, ways to accelerate innovation in healthcare, the role of Europe in supporting change-makers, and what can we reasonably hope to achieve by 2030 particularly for SDG3, i.e., Good Health and well being.
