18. My Battle With Anorexia, as told by Ryli Pelchat⚠️

  • Summary

  • Ryli (https://www.instagram.com/rylipelchat/) messaged me wanting to share this part of her story, I have to be honest with you, I had no idea what to expect. I met Ryli through the fitness industry and know her as a competitive fitness athlete. So I found it brave of her to want to openly talk about something at first glance contradicts a huge part of her life, but also something that most of us don’t really know much about. All I know about eating disorders have been from movies and tv shows, so this chat was eye opening for me, to say the least. She takes us on her journey from before being diagnosed, to physical symptoms that seemed to come out of nowhere, leading to acknowledging past traumatic experiences, and forming an intimate bond not just with food but with her body. We dive into support, being let down by “professionals” who only saw her file but not her as person, community, being vulnerable with those around you without making yourself small, emotional resiliency and so much more. What is your biggest takeaway from this chat?✨✨✨✨✨.As always, these chats are to remind you that you are not alone, you are a badass, do the thing and be..you.—————————-
