16. Speaking your truth, in faith with Antwane and Silvia Hamlett 🧩

  • Summary

  • We’ve all, at one point or another had to have a very intense conversation, and we’ll keep having them. In this chat, meet two of my favourite humans @Antwane of (https://www.instagram.com/officialhightophamlett/) and his wife/partner Silvia (https://www.instagram.com/fitlife_silvia/) & how after over 8 years, had one of these intense conversations.✨We talk about their individual paths, their love story, business partnership, their faith and the ways in which they show up in the World. ✨Just a heads up, it’ll be difficult for you not to laugh and cry along with us haha. As you get a glimpse of their personalities, I hope you remember that you are deserving and worthy of speaking your truth, always.Antwane and Sylvia are both/have both been fitness athletes, they are the owners of https://www.instagram.com/fitlifeathletics/Ant is an IFBBPro who is finally stepping into the spotlight as a posing coach for athletesSylvia is a plant dealer (I just love saying this) with her company https://www.instagram.com/silsconcretejungle/And they are all around authentic, passionate and kind folks.✨✨✨✨✨We’ve all, at one point or another had to have a very intense conversation.I’ve done it when I was 19 and told my very Haitian mother that I was pregnant 😰, when I sat down with my program advisor and admitted I was too sensitive to follow through on becoming a social worker even though I’ve always known I wanted to help people, quitting jobs, letting potential romantic ties know I wasn’t feeling the same, and again and again and again with the tough icky conversations. And these conversations are made tougher by the stories we tell ourselves, aren’t they? And to have some semblance of control over the situation or circumstances, because what we’re really afraid of is the unknown of “what if their reaction is completely different than the scenarios I’ve made up in my mind? “ afraid of the rejection of our truths, afraid of hurting someone else by our truths. So we sometimes decide to hurt ourselves instead. I hope hearing about Silvia’s inner turmoil gives you the nudge you may need to have your own intense uncomfortable conversation and that you receive the response you never could’ve imagined 💜.As always, these chats are to remind you that you are not alone..
