15 The Epistle of James: Deo Volente (God Willing)

  • Summary

  • James Meyers, III considers what St. James said rebuking presumptive and boastful planning. While planning is not itself inherently evil, when done outside the confines of God’s will, it is arrogant and therefore, sinful, as St. James concludes the fourth chapter. James discusses some historical secular ideas which tend to emerge even within the Christian conscience. The Christian worldview is one which is seen within an eternal timeframe, and thus, as R.C. Sproul articulated, “Right now counts forever.”
