Commitment is one of the most important cornerstones of performance and success, with the power to separate the dreamers from the achievers.
I wanted to dedicate today's episode to this important topic because I see its impact being neglected, overlooked or partially misinterpreted in business and personal life.
When we are in companies, the first assessments we do when it comes to corporate health, change management and modelling a sustainable process landscape, is to look at the biggest stressors for your employees.
And what I see most of the time is that people are unhappy with too much workload, with the day-to-day business topped up with additional projects that are circulating across their desks. This leads to a feeling of overwhelm and uncertainty.
But what has commitment got to do with it?
Commitment, when not taken seriously or when over-committed to too many things at the same time, comes at a high cost:
- a broken promise and therefore a lack of trust and confidence, either you lose it in yourself over time, or you'll experience it from your team towards you.
- a reduction in effectiveness and success, to name the two biggest.
To prevent you from falling into the trap that society or the competition tries to put us into, I would like to share with you my 6 most valuable insights when it comes to successful engagement and therefore transforming you from planning and dreaming about a goal to actually achieving it and skyrocketing not only your performance but also the overall motivation, commitment and performance of your team, partner, company.
