    1981年1月、外務省に入省され 様々な外交に従事
    近年では、駐メキシコ日本国特命全権大使、
    駐ブラジル日本国特命全権大使として就き
    2021年12月に退官、将棋を世界に広める活動を30年ほど行っていて、
    現在は、NPO将棋を世界に広める会理事長を務めています。
