    洪水の後、長生きしたノアは死に、その後も地上には再び多くの人間が生まれ育ち、増えていきました。しかし、人間はまたもや堕落し、いろいろな宗教や偶像をつくり出しました。洪水の数百年後、地上はすでに罪に満ちた、暗黒の世界になっていました。 そこで神は、罪深い人間を罰すると預言者をとおして警告されました。人々に、悔い改めるよう神の声を伝えた預言者たちは、憎まれ、迫害され、殺されたことも少なくはありませんでした。しかし、人間を愛しておられる神は、あらゆる時代に預言者を世界に送り続けられたのです。
