In one way or another, we all carry trauma. It can manifest as anxiety, shame, low self-esteem, over-eating, under-eating, addiction, depression, confusion, people-pleasing, under-earning, low mood, negative thinking, social anxiety, anger, brain fog and more.

Traumas, big or 'little', leave us trapped in cycles of dysfunctional behaviours, negative thoughts and difficult feelings. Yet many people are unaware they're stuck in old reactions and patterns that stem from their past traumas. Many of us are wary of the word and push it away instead of moving towards it and learning how to break free.

Dr Sarah Woodhouse is a Research Psychologist who specialises in trauma and is passionate about helping people face this word and their past. really wonderful, got a lot from this book

This was one of the best books I've heard recently. made the content easy to understand (I did register to sections that I wanted to hear again and try to understand more deeply). I would highly recommend the book.

A compassionate and helpful resource

Hearing Dr Sarah Woodhouse read her book felt like being in a private therapy session with her. She is compassionate and presents the latest research and theory in a straightforward way, helping the reader understand one's past traumatic life experiences and their impact on present day thoughts, feelings and behaviour. She also provides some excellent strategies for managing trsuma-related reactions.

Absolutely what I needed

This book has helped me move forward from trauma and sadness that I have held for many years not knowing. I am now able to identify past experiences and my reactions to current situations that trigger me.
