Publisher's Summary
Marnie is stuck.
Stuck working alone in her London flat, stuck battling the long afternoons and a life that increasingly feels like it's passing her by.
Michael is coming undone.
Reeling from his wife's departure, increasingly reclusive, taking himself on long, solitary walks across the moors and fells.
When a persistent mutual friend and some very English weather conspire to bring them together, Marnie and Michael suddenly find themselves alone on the most epic of walks and on the precipice of a new friendship.
But can it survive the journey?
A new love story by beloved bestseller David Nicholls, You Are Here is a novel of first encounters, second chances, and finding the way home.

Narration so real it was like watching a movie. You don’t need images. The narrators painted it so brilliantly
Laugh out loud, clever text and outstanding characterisation. I hate to admit I thought it was written by a woman as the author had captured the way a woman’s mind works. I purchased this book by mistake and within a couple of minutes was addicted. A feel good uplifting book so worth reading.

so good I thought a woman wrote it ...
... not because women write better (necessarily) but because the woman's "voice" was so accurate. This was such a lovely warm and funny book. I literally laughed out loud on my walk with my dog at the beginning of chapter "Hotel du Lac" (& the end of the previous chapter).
I'm excited to see he has so many other books I can now listen to.

Beautifully crafted tale about modern relationships and life in general
Great characterisation and descriptions. The narration was top notch , shared across narrators and specific to each character and added greatly to the pace and details of the story.
The characters are real and likable and while the bulk of the tale takes place on a walk through the north of England it is captivating and really enjoyable and takes in human landscapes beyond the one provided by nature. For me it’s one of the best reads this year ( 2024)
