Love Maria’s comedy style. This is a unique, funny and at times vulnerable self-help for artists and creatives of any kind, struggling for motivation. Fast-paced, packed full of fun and also honesty. I will go back and listen again for sure.

I knew I would enjoy this audiobook the moment I heard that it existed. What I didn't know was that it would generate actual genuine feelings of positivity about myself (perhaps especially because this sort-of maybe somehow kind-of didn't really seem to be Bamford's original or explicit intent? Then again, I certainly don't claim to be able to decipher the twisted, arcane, fatigued machinations of the brilliant mind at work here; despite protestations, the woman clearly exhibits more than a modicum of care not just for herself but for her audience too.)

Do yourself a (Comedy) Special favour and listen to this tiny festival of laughter; you're relatively unlikely to be harmed by doing so. You might just love what you find in Maria's words... and maybe even... what you find... in yourself. But you know, maybe not, this isn't really that kind of a thing.
