This is a novel inspired by the reality of events that developed from the time of peace to the days of war in Lebanon. The story is depicted from the viewpoint of a cat, Zeeko, exposing the unique friendship built with Mona, the writer’s daughter. The book has been translated into several languages including English, German, Danish, and Thai.

The novel received the Lebanese Children's Books Award.

A Cat's Diary made the 1998 IBBY Honor List.
