Phenomenal
Absolutely amazing performance! I've only dipped a toe into the 40k universe, but I think this just made me hooked! So excited to see what comes next for Eisenhorn.
Toby has great consistency with his characters.

an amazing experience
I read Xenos a few ages and thought it would be a good choice to start getting into audio books and I must say it was amazing. Toby Longworth does an amazing job narrating and keeping my attention, I never wanted to stop listening.

First warhammer novel
Amazing. Great narration and story. Most immersive fantasy book I’ve read in a while. Highly recommend, especially to those with no history with warhammer.

Great but odd quality audio
Another great book by Dan Abnett. I'll confess I was a little bored by the setting of the scene early in the book. The latter stage of the story more than makes up for it however.
The audio is less than ideal. It seems to be either too soft or too loud.

If you are wondering what is warhammer 40k
This is a great place to start, Eisenhorn is an inquisitor which is the imperium of man’s (humanity in 40k) secret police.

Compelling story, told well
Xenos is a fantastic window into the world of Warhammer 40k good for both starters and fans of the franchise. Capable of crime-novel intrigue, chilling elements of thriller, and clearly described yet elabourate action scenes, tied together with a gifted narrator that gives life and clarity to dialogue.
While enriched by the knowledge, Xenos is told as such that it can be enjoyed with no prior knowledge of the universe. Conversely, franchise knowledge will not spoil all its secrets, leaving a developing mystery to grip all readers.

How I learned to stop worrying & love the Emperor
If you're new to 40k or just want a nice snapshot of the setting, get this book. It presents the overall theme of humanity in 40k from the (totally not biased and completely sane) perspective of an Inquisitor, and it does so excellently. Intriguing plot and interesting characters with an excellent narrator.
I give it 10 dead heretics out of 10.
