About this listen
Three witches gathered on a lonely heath. A king has been cruelly murdered, his throne usurped by his ambitious cousin. A child heir and the crown of the kingdom are both missing. The omens are not auspicious for the new incumbent, for whom ascending this tainted throne is a more complicated affair than you might imagine - particularly when the blood on your hands just won't wash off, and you're facing a future with knives in it.
©1988 Terry Pratchett (P)2007 Penguin AudioCritic Reviews
"One of the pleasures of the book is the way in which literary classics float effortlessly through them in a way that would be pounced on as inter-textual in another author but is never allowed to become strident or alienating in Pratchett's work." (Guardian)

Great listen - hilarious story and telling
It was really well done, the only criticism I could make was there a bit too much dynamic range. Could have don’t with a bit of compression. Our parts sometimes too loud, compared with quiet parts.
Cheers

wish it wasn't abridged
Tony Robinson delivers the story with the same energetic humor as it's written in, I wish it was an unabridged version though.

A satirical take on McBeth
A truly hilarious take on a Shakespearean classic. Terry Pratchett has outdone himself with this interesting take on a piece of classic literature. Funny across all levels and very fun to read.

Terry Pratchett at his best!
I live this story so much, and it's clear that Tony Robinson lives it too. So much fun, highly recommended.

terrible narrator
I love Terry Pratchett books but I couldn't finish this audiobook as the narration alternated between too soft to hear and way too loud. The narrator was a bit too expressive in places, made it seem like he randomly over-acted some scenes.
