Publisher's Summary
They say to keep your enemies close, but "they" never had to deal with the likes of Alec Daniels, the broody bad boy next door who loved to make my life a living nightmare...up until the day he disappeared.
See, Alec was a thief. He stole my happy. My sanity. My first kiss.
I told myself I was glad the day he went away, and I'm reminded of why not five minutes after his sudden and unexpected return.
Now he stands before me with a heavy glare and hard body. But those greedy green eyes, they're darker than I remember, and brimming with a secret....
A secret I didn't discover until it was far too late.
Because this time, he didn't steal a simple kiss. This time...Alec Daniels stole my all.
Contains mature themes.

Story is ok but the male voice is terrible
Easy listen and some humor. But the male voice was excruciating. From the very beginning, his voice as a teenager was really bad.

eeh.
i hate leaving a bad review, as i know how much effort goes into writing and producing an audiobook, so the best i can say is its not my cup of tea and i really didn't like the cheating or how it was drawn out, so didn't finish it. female narrator did a good job but the males voice while doing the children was cringe worthy.

Recommend!
I liked the twists and turns had no idea what was going to happen. It flowed well and I really liked the narration. I liked the characters each had their own character development and grew through out the story. If you like Enemies to lovers and mine then you'll love this book!
I listen on 1.6 speed as I find it easier. I'm used to people talking at a faster pace. If you want to find out what happens faster with any book or you struggle with it, play around with the speed and pick one that you're comfortable with. Just a tip for how I used Audible. I liked the pace of this book and the flow of the story and characters I binged listened to it as I really wanted to know what happens next.

Please re-record with a new male narrator
His performance was so distracting, and not at all in a good way, thank goodness for the excellent female narrator - who actually knew what other human beings sounded like - or I would have DNF’d this really quick. And you don’t DNF a Meagan Brandy book.

Good.
The premise is great. A Black Ops team of firefighters? Yes. Sign me up for all of that.
I called what was going on with Rowan by the time they were adults.
The intrigue was interesting, I didn't even hate the surprise wife being thrown in, because I knew what was going to happen with her.
In fact, a lot of this was predictable, but enjoyable.
I kinda thought Oakley's bff and her dad were together for a minute, and I didn't hate the idea of that.
The male narrator threw me out everytime it was his turn.

Terrible
Nothing in this book makes sense. I decided to listening to the end hoping it could get better but it doesn’t. There are so many things going on and none of it has a really good reason to happen.
And the male narrator voice is terrible especially when his interpreting female characters.
