About this listen
Someone is hosting dangerous tea parties in 2061 New York in #1 New York Times bestselling author J. D. Robb’s novella.
Things aren’t what they seem when Lieutenant Eve Dallas investigates what appears to be a routine murder/suicide. When friends of Darlene and Marcus Fitzwilliams insist Darlene would never harm her brother, Eve digs deeper.
Eve learns that Darlene sought help from sensitives, psychics, and doctors of paranormal studies in an attempt to contact her dead parents. After clues mimicking Alice in Wonderland repeatedly turn up, the case gets curiouser and curiouser....
Racing against the clock, Eve must travel down the rabbit hole to stop a madman’s murderous tea party.

But I did love being with the gang.
2023 AUDIBLE REVIEW
Okay but I still don’t like the Alice in Wonderland theme. But I did love being with the gang.
BOOK REVIEW
Really short, even for a novella and Alice in Wonderland has never been of interest to me.
A murder suicide that isn’t and a madman who is really off kilter.
Loved Peabody being nervous about things.
Extremely sad that grief over losing her parents ended up causing the deaths of Darlene and her brother Marcus. Worse especially, as they were friends of Louise and Charles. And poor Henry, the fiancé, what a nightmare to deal with.
Felt a bit aggrieved with Darlene for causing things to happen by not continuing with her grief counselling or talking to her loved ones, rather than looking for an alternative option but grief can make you behave uncharacteristically. Plus, the fact she was targeted for her money puts her strongly in the victim column.
We don’t get told which way around things happened with the killers sister all those years ago, so don’t know if he was to blame or the sister.

And I’m a fan!
Have read and most recently gone back and gotten almost all books on audio, in other words a real fan.. this was on the nose. To charge $15 for this was an insult to all the novels and those of us who pay “Ms Robs” way. Greedy is not a good look.
