About this listen

This is high-action, ideas-driven noir SF of the highest order. Morgan has already established himself as an SF author of global significance.

Takeshi Kovacs has come home. Home to Harlan's World. An ocean planet with only 5 percent of its landmass poking above the dangerous and unpredictable seas. Try to get above the weather in anything more sophisticated than a helicopter and the Martian orbital platforms will burn you out of the sky.

And death doesn't just wait for you in the seas and the skies. On land, from the tropical beaches and swamps of Kossuth to the icy, machine-infested wastes of New Hokkaido the hard won gains of the Quellist revolution have been lost. The First Families, the corporations and the Yakuza have a stranglehold on everything.

Embarked on a journey of implacable retribution for a lost love, Kovacs is blown off course and into a maelstrom of political intrigue and technological mystery as the ghosts of Harlan's World and his own violent past rise to claim their due.

Quellcrist Falconer is back from the dead, they say, and hunting her down for the First Families is a savage young Envoy called Kovacs who's been in storage.

An amazing Reader and Book tainted by aftereffects

a very good reader that is unfortunately almost over shadowed by the badly done echo effect and such.

It get alot better past the first quarter and i do think you should push on.

it is an amazing story and an exceptional finish to a great serise.

Not the best in the series

Its intersting but even through I think the premise of the book was the best of the 3, it was not engaging by comparison. A lot of characters appear 1 dimensional and uninteresting. I really enjoyed book 1 and 2 so was disappointed that this wasnt better.

Shame Morgan has to indulge his inner teenage boy so much

These books would be an order of magnitude better without the utterly unnecessary mills and boon porno scenes. He can really write, and the world building draws you in... then disappoints you with some teenage boys mastabatory stream of consciousness. What a waste.

good story terrible performance and production.

A decent cyberpunk/sci fi novel witj a narrator so bad he can't even pronounce that protagonist's correctly.

Enjoyable story but that echo effect was terrible

The story was good and the performance was well done by the narrator, although some knowledge seems lost from the last 2 books on how to say his surname. That echo effect though! So, so, so bad. Don't ever use it again!

Not the best in the series, just ok.

First off, there are no sound effects anymore.
I found the book to be a little flat in spots compared to the others in the series and I found my mind wondering back to my day to day thoughts and tasks I was neglecting while listening, not ideal when you’re looking for that sci-fi escape.
The change of narrator really didn’t help but he did a fair job.
Hope that helps you making the decision to give the book ago or not.

Great story

Initially had difficult with the narrator and the tone changes. Didn't help that this 3rd book was narrated by a different person to the first 2.
Was probably 2/3s into the book before I caught the stride. All up a great story and good performance.

Solid story and performance

Good performance and story, but I cringed everytime he mispronounced Kovacs. The voice effects take some getting used to.

It was a little confusing at the start of the book but definitely get better and better as the story goes on.
