About this listen

Teamwork, one of the most celebrated concepts in corporate life, is falling short on its promise. Why Teams Don't Work identifies the obstacles (most of them people-made) that prevent teams from achieving their potential, suggests methods to remove those obstacles, and explains how to take care of the team members.

Packed with down-to-earth questions and answers about teams, Why Teams Don't Work facilitates teams in eliminating confusion about team goals, helping individual team members accept their roles, making decisions, enjoying appropriate rewards, and helping team leaders act like leaders.

When teams do work, they increase productivity, improve communications, and accomplish work ordinary groups can't. Whether you're a manager or a team member, this recording will give you the tools to keep your team operating creatively and efficiently.

very good information about teams

This is a really good book, nice and fast to get through with lots of very useful information and ideas. It's changed a lot of my thinking about what a team is even meant to be and framed a lot of things I've seen in the past, giving me an "aha!! that's what that was about" moment each time.

Considering the amount of information it carries, it's amazing that this book is so short. It's a great example of density without becoming impenetrable.

I liked the narration too. good engaging narration works really well.

I kind of see the point another reviewer had about the lists, but there's nothing stopping you from taking notes if you want the lists to go back to later.

The one thing I'd really appreciate was if this book was broken up into more chapters... it's cut into just 4 segments of audio, just numbered chapter 1 to chapter 4.... But inside these chunks of audio there are absolutely sections that you might want to go and navigate back to later.... (in fact these segments even have names and are read by the narrator!!! ) this book could really do with breaking up into more audio chapters to actually match the information structure of the book.

Anyway - I'll definitely be listening to this again, maybe buying a written copy too, though I can probably absorb everything I need well enough in a couple more listens.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
