About this listen
Not all magicians go to schools of magic.
Adam Binder has the Sight. It’s a power that runs in his bloodline: the ability to see beyond this world and into another, a realm of magic populated by elves, gnomes, and spirits of every kind. But for much of Adam’s life, that power has been a curse, hindering friendships, worrying his backwoods family, and fueling his abusive father’s rage.
Years after his brother, Bobby, had him committed to a psych ward, Adam is ready to come to grips with who he is, to live his life on his terms, to find love, and maybe even use his magic to do some good. Hoping to track down his missing father, Adam follows a trail of cursed artifacts to Denver, only to discover that an ancient and horrifying spirit has taken possession of Bobby’s wife.
It isn’t long before Adam becomes the spirit’s next target. To survive the confrontation, save his sister-in-law, and learn the truth about his father, Adam will have to risk bargaining with very dangerous beings...including his first love.

Solid
It's nice to read something gay and Ernest in the realm of urban fantasy. It's fun, it's emotional, it's a lot. It Dragged in some places, but on the whole it was an enjoyable read. The narrator is also super great.

Fantastic story
Loved the main character and all of the supporting ones too. Was gripped from beginning to end, totally drawn in by the world building. It was also extremely well narrated.

so genuine and well written.
plus main character is Gay which was an awesome added bonus.

Heed Me NETFLIX!!
Listen up Netflix! You need to make each book a limited episode mini-series. Don't try and cram it into an hour and a half movie, or ruin it by dragging it out into a massive series.
Throw it a decent budget for good effects and keep the author on board!! I wanna see something like Sabrina crossed with Shadow Hunters. Finally something our LGBTQIA kids can relate to.

I enjoyed this book. Looking forward to the next.
Took me a little while to get into it but it was worth it. I think Audible recommended it because I like Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden. Now waiting on the next instalment. It was quite languid in parts which was enjoyable. Then quite gut wrenching in others, very real. I got invested in complex characters.

Such a great surprise!
What a pleasure this was! A very unique story with surprising twists. This is the story of a likeable young man who can see the "other world." Highly recommended.

Steamrolled through this audio
The performance was so easy to listen to that I finished it in two days. I don’t normally listen to books outside of work but stayed up to listen to this one.
Good story, good characters, lovely to listen to
